Growing up in Hawaii, Ross Brandeburg was surrounded by master carpenters and ukulele makers, which have inspired his contemporary work. He found beauty in their design, choice of wood, grain structure, and bold features that embody Hawaiian craftsmanship. Hardwood combinations such as Maple, Oak, and especially Walnut, along with staples to traditional Hawaiian design like Koa, are showcased in Ross’s main work. Over the years, Ross has honed his skills and started to find his own style. With the knowledge he has gained from working with his father, his connection with the Hawaiian style, and guidance from a local master craftsmen of the Central Coast, Ross has fashioned his own distinct style and is quickly proving himself to be a notable up-and-comer in the world of wood design.
