Two weeks ago we teamed up with Jazmyn Strickland, owner of Love Always Weddings (Wedding Coordination) and founder of non-profit, Ward House Charities. The mission, “To enrich the lives of children through supporting their participation in school and community activities.” One of the programs is Project Prom. Ward House Charities collects donated dresses, shoes, makeup, jewelry, and clutches year round. This year we had the privilege of hosting Project Prom at Something Bridal. Prom is much like planning for a wedding. Or at least when it comes to the attire. So it was the perfect fit for us. With continuous donations the girls are able to try on several dresses and find the perfect one. While we help find “the one” we also help style the look with jewelry and accessories. This year we styled 15 girls.
If you have any items you’d like to donate for next year you can either drop them off at Something Bridal; 1349 Monterey Street in SLO or contact Jazmyn at firstname.lastname@example.org. We’re always interested in dresses, shoes, makeup, jewelry, and clutches with an emphasis on black and silver shoes. If you’d like to learn more about the program go to http://www.wardhousecharities.org/.
